A man checked his motion-detection camera footage after getting home from work to find a door appearing to open and close on its own – with some viewers convinced it was a ghost
He says the friend he lives with had heard sounds of doors opening and closing when he was getting ready for work in the mornings.
Wanting to investigate what had been causing the sounds, he placed a camera, which automatically begins filming when it detects movement, in the living room to see if anyone had been trying to break in.
He says he received an automatic notification at about 11am, when neither he or his roommate were home, to say the camera had detected movement.
When he checked the footage, it appeared to show a door to another room opening slowly before quickly slamming back in its hinges and closing again.
Reddit user Blin11 says no one was at home, and no shadows or others signs of movement can be seen, as reported by the Daily Star.
He said: “I got home from work and checked out the door. It was fully shut like I left it this morning.
“I don’t see anything else out of place, and no extra fans or anything were left on by my roommate.
“I’m getting a static cam set up for the other side of the door, and I’m going to talk to my roommate about it when he is back from vacation.”
Some viewers were convinced it was a sign of paranormal activity, saying: “That for sure is a ghost.”
A second wrote: “It’s a ghost. All these people are just in denial. It is a ghost and you should be aware. If it’s peaceful and nothing goes too crazy, then you should be ok.”
Others looked for another explanation asking: “Could it be related to your air conditioning? My house has a door that slams when the air conditioning kicks on if we leave it open. If the latch is weak it might also pull it open.”
But the man responded to say it wouldn’t have been possible, claiming the door had actually been locked shut.
